“Mechanical properties of super-soft biomolecular systems: Application to twenty solvated canonical amino acids” by Puja Adhikari, Bahaa Jawad, and Wai-Yim Ching, this article reports the mechanical properties calculation of solvated 20 amino acids using the ab initio method based on density functional theory.  The calculated properties include Young’s modulus, shear modulus, bulk modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and hardness of each amino acid under 17 different strains. Authors have identified AAs with relatively higher/lower compressibility, rigidity, flexibility, stretchability, and hardness based on their mechanical properties.
